HP announced in December 2011, that webOS will be going open source with the resources of HP behind it. WebOS will be rebranded Open webOS 1.0 and the transition has now begun with the release of Enyo, the company’s JavaScript application framework. HP has released a roadmap detailing exactly how that’s going to happen, you can find it here.

There are two versions of Enyo currently available:

Enyo 2, released in January 2012, takes Enyo beyond webOS. It doesn’t yet include a UI package, but features a tight, cross-platform core that will serve as the foundation for future Enyo development, supporting libraries and add-ons of all kinds.

Enyo 1 was released in 2011 and used to build the apps for the HP TouchPad. It featured a set of beautiful, responsive UI widgets, but was dependent on WebKit, optimized specifically for TouchPad, and originally licensed only for use on webOS.

Want to get involved with Enyo?

  • Report bugs and request features in the Enyo issue tracker on GitHub.
  • Support the Enyo developers, answer questions in the forums.
  • Spread the word
  • Build and share your own Enyo add-ons.

Enjoy! :-)

Facebook announced today the worldwide release of the Timeline. So … I tried it!  It’s definitely something new, great UI, much more user friendly :-)

It’s interesting to see all my activity, pics and statuses 1 or 2 years old. In my opinion you should all try it … The only thing that I don’t like is that it’s not available for pages … or not yet.

If you are ready to upgrade you can do it from here ~

Mozilla Meet-up – Firefox 9 Preview

Let’s BE there!

Evenimentul a avut urmatoarele obiective:

  • Prezentarea conceptelor generale Open Source si Free Software

  • Open Source Cloud
  • Sibiu Jug Academy Java Open Source technologies for students
  • Mozilla – Make the web a better place
  • Ubuntu – Linux for human beings
  • Magnolia Java Open Source CMS
